The two motors provide some extra suction strength, which makes vacuuming a thick carpet so much easier. The telescoping wand has a 10 foot reach, so you don’t have to move the vacuum all over the place when cleaning up. And the 25+ foot cord is long enough to cover the average room without having to unplug.
The canister uses bags – you do have to switch them out when they fill up. However, you don’t have to deal with filters, which is convenient. Do you have a pet that sheds?
The 81714 has a pet attachment that makes cleaning fur a piece of cake. I also like the crevice tool for cleaning hard floors, rugs, and couches. This tool even has suction control to make things even easier.
The one downside about this vacuum is the weight – 25lbs is pretty heavy. You also have to manually adjust the height when you change surfaces (ex. rug to wood to carpet). The extra features really push the vacuum over the edge, though.

The Miele C2 is definitely the vacuum for you. It has all the features, and attachments, that you would want in a vacuum. You can also use it to clean hard floors and (deep clean) carpet because of the 1,200W it uses to suck up everything.
Miele even included two brushes on the vacuum: a soft brush for hard floors and an electrobrush. The electrobrush works especially well for cleaning pet hair out of your carpet. My favorite part?
The electrobrush has five height settings, which means you can easily clean any surface.
I also like that this vacuum is quiet—the Vortex motor really does make it quieter than the vast majority of vacuums. As for suction, you can adjust that with the easy-to-use 6-setting switch. The three accessory tools make cleaning any surface easy. These accessories include tools to reach crevices, a brush for dusting, and a tool for upholstery. The accessories even clip to the hose for maximum convenience.
If you suffer from allergies, then you will love this vacuum since it traps 99.9 percent of allergens in its filter and exhaust system. And yes, it does include a bag for dust.
As you may already know, bagless canister vacuums don’t need replacement bags, so you don’t have to come in contact with dust or dirt. In other words, they’re very convenient to use.
The Ovente Bagless Vacuum definitely falls into this category because it doesn’t use any bags. It has a container for dust and a filter that you can easily remove with the handle. You don’t even have to touch the dirty filter – you can dump straight to your wastebasket. Simply wash the filter when it gets dirty, reattach it, and use it until the LED light on the vacuum notifies you that the container for dust and filter need replacing.

The telescopic wand also helps reach those areas you can’t usually reach such as the tops of windows, corners, and even the ceiling. Other convenient attachments include a brush for floors, brush for pet hair, bristle brush, and a nozzle for cleaning crevices.
A canister vacuum does not necessarily have to cost a lot of money. Sure, there are plenty of vacuums in the triple-digit price range on the market. However, the Bissell Zing has some extra features, and you won’t have to compromise on quality.
First, this vacuum weighs under 8 pounds, so you can easily move it up stairs and around your house. It’s also bagless with a capacity of 2 liters of dust, dirt, and any other junk you can put in it.
Unfortunately, this vacuum doesn’t have all the suction options found in more expensive vacuums. It does make up for that with simplicity, though. The press of a button will take you from carpet to hardwood floors. The adjustable knob allows you to adjust the suction power, which allows you to clean rugs, upholstery, drapes, and curtains without causing any damage.

The Dyson Big Ball is a memorable vacuum cleaner because of it’s big ball. It also has earned a reputation as a vacuum that makes a dirty, old carpet look like you just installed it. And yes, that even includes carpets that have had Great Danes (or any dog) on them.
If you’re a pet owner, then you know how difficult it is to keep your home free of pet hair. Here’s a hint – it’s really hard.
This vacuum has Dyson’s trademarked Cinetic technology that sucks up dirt and dust. It even sucks up those microscopic particles that you can’t see. This definitely helps clean up all the nasty stuff that your dog or cat brings in from outside.
Most interestingly, this vacuum doesn’t have any filters, so you do not need to spend time washing and cleaning filters. Plus, it’s kind of gross dealing with filters. I also like the ejector button. Simply press the button, and all the dirt and debris gets shot into the garbage. Just make sure that you have it aimed at the garbage can.
It does have a 0.40 gallon canister that can hold a decent amount of junk, so no need to constantly clean the filter. The vacuum even rights itself up when it tips over, which is pretty cool, but not as useful as you’d think.
This is a Dyson ball vacuum, and that means more maneuverability. Trust me, it helps when you’re trying to vacuum around furniture or moving through a tight hallway. The 20+ foot cord also helps. Of course, the attachments to the vacuum cleaner are stored inside the handle.
My favorite feature is the turbine head. It really does pick up much more hair from hardwood than a normal vacuum. The reverse-spinning brush actually does a better job picking up hair than a normal rotating brush.
If you already have a Dyson vacuum, then don’t worry. You can easily use your other Dyson attachment with this vacuum. In fact, all Dyson attachments are compatible with other Dyson vacuums.
Finally, the filter is a HEPA filter that does a good job trapping allergens and dust inside the vacuum. Of course, this vacuum has received a certification from the National Asthma Association.
Hardwood floors cost a lot of money, and you really don’t want to ruin them with a vacuum. With that in mind, you really need to think about the vacuum you purchase if you have a hardwood floor. Some vacuums will destroy hardwood.
I recommend the Bissell Deluxe Canister Vacuum for hardwood floors. This vacuum was basically built for hardwood floors. It’s lightweight at only 9 pounds and it’s bagless. It feels like it’s floating across a hardwood. The rubber wheels (non-marking) certainly help prevent scratches. But it still sucks up all that gunk into the 1L cup. That dirt cup also empties from the underside of the vacuum, which should prevent any messes.
What really makes this vacuum great for hardwood floors is that it has soft bristles that won’t scrape your hardwood floors. I also like the digital control to adjust the suction – it’s even digitally controlled, which is fairly rare at this price. The telescoping 8 foot wand works great for reaching curtains or even the ceiling. Finally, this vacuum does have an automatic cord retrieval, which is convenient. I wish the cord was a little longer, though.

If that’s the case, a vacuum that doesn’t weigh much might be the ideal type of vacuum. And the BB900-DGR is definitely one of the lighter vacuums that you will find anywhere. First, it only weighs 5lbs, so you definitely won’t struggle moving it up stairs. Unfortunately, it does have bags, but that’s expected for such a light vacuum (filters weigh a lot).
This has the integrated handle you would expect. And it has a strap that allows you to carry it on your shoulder, and that makes it very comfortable when you carry it for longer distances. The compact size may deceive you, but this vacuum has a powerful two-stage motor that has much more suction than the more typical single-stage motor.
I like the extra tools and features in this lightweight vacuum. Some of those include a 60 inch hose, a telescoping wand, a tool to clean furniture, a nozzle for tile, and a dusting brush. You need to swap out the bag (1.25L), but that’s a small price to pay for a vacuum that can handle hardwood floors. And yes, you can use it on all the other places you would find in your home.
Finally, this vacuum has an extremely long power cord (30 feet), so you definitely won’t need to unplug and find a new outlet unless you live in a mansion or something.
Not all vacuums are delicate machines that can only be used to clean carpet and upholstery. A wet/dry vacuum has the power to deep clean huge messes, and it can even suck up water. These wet/dry vacuums don’t have to cost an arm and a leg, either. The Craftsman Wet/Dry Vac doesn’t even cost that much for a wet/dry vac.
The 5+ gallon collection tank means you won’t need to empty it for a decent amount of time. The 3 HP motor also speeds things up. Cleaning is also easy because the removable filter also has a cap that screws on, so you can easily drain the water.
It comes with plenty of attachments that include the following: a nozzle, a squeegee for the floor, and two wands that extend the nozzle. It even has a carrying handle for easy transportation. You can also use it as a blower, which is great for drying wet things or as a leaf blower.
How much power do you need in your vacuum?
That will depend on a few different things. Your home size, the amount of pets you, and the type of flooring you have all impact the amount of power you need in a vacuum. HEPA filters make some vacuums more effective, too.
Personally, I recommend a vacuum that has over 1000 watts of suction power, but more is always better. You can’t really have too much suction in a vacuum.
Powerful vacuums tend to weigh more and have larger dimensions, which isn’t great if you live in a multi-story home. I recommend a vacuum that weighs under 15 pounds if you live in a single-story home. If you live in a multi-story home, then a vacuum under 10 pounds will work best. You can also purchase multiple vacuums if you don’t want to move one vacuum from floor to floor.
Most people hate vacuuming, but the extra features found on some vacuums make the whole process a lot less annoying. Automatically rewinding cords, various attachments, and a quiet vacuum can all make the whole process a little easier. It really comes down to personal preference, so choose whatever works best for you.
